Rich Vogler was one of the hardest chargers in the history of midget racing. He won five USAC national midget championships and 95 races, second on the all-time list. The most impressive of Vogler’s accomplishments may have been his big race wins. He scored eight Hut Hundreds, four 4-Crowns, two HoosierDome Invitationals, two Copper Worlds, one Night Before The 500 and one Chili Bowl. Vogler was fatally injured during a sprint car race at Salem, IN on July 21, 1990.
