First Ever Grand Prix de Smith Collection Remote Control Car Day Camp
The Smith Collection Museum of American Speed is excited to announce the first ever Grand Prix de Smith Collection. Students in grades 9th – 12th are encouraged to register and be a part of a fast paced three day summer camp in which they will build, learn about, and compete with remote controlled cars. This day camp will be held at the Smith Collection Museum of American Speed Wednesday June 27, 2012 and run through June 29th. Students will pay a camp fee of $275.00 for the three days that includes building equipment, seminars, practice time, lunches, racing, race car, radio equipment, battery, charger and t-shirt. The camp will run from 9am – 3:30pm each day.
Students will learn about the geometry of a race car, aerodynamics, and maintenance of a high performance vehicle. After the cars are built, drivers will take to the track for practice and qualifying, all leading up to the Grand Prix de Smith Collection that will be held on the final day of the camp. Racers will compete against one another for the inaugural Smith Collection Trophy. All registrations must be in by May 18, 2012. Space is very limited so reserve your spot today.
