Help us research racing history, drivers, and engine development.
As home to the world’s largest collection of vintage and exotic racing engines, the Smith Collection Museum of American Speed is a horsepower lover’s paradise. More than 600 engines showcase the engineering and ingenuity that have driven man’s pursuit of performance through the decades. These detailed engine displays are complemented by thousands of specialty performance parts and prototype components – physical examples that trace the history and growth of the automotive aftermarket industry.
Dozens of historic competition vehicles are on display in the museum, ranging from early dirt- and board-track racecars to significant Sprint and Midget racers, Indy cars, NASCAR stockers, and land-speed streamliners. There’s also a great variety of street rods, restored classics and show vehicles of every description.
